Anna

Lead Analyst, Maritime Systems

Naval platforms, undersea warfare, and the contested geography of European waters.

Anna leads our maritime systems practice. Her expertise covers surface combatants, submarines, mine-warfare assets, and the emerging class of uncrewed maritime systems—both their technical performance and their fit within evolving European naval concepts of operations. She is particularly recognised for her work on undersea-domain awareness and the defence of critical seabed infrastructure.

She joined the firm following an extended career that combined operational naval service with classified analytical roles supporting Baltic and North Sea regional commands. Her transition to advisory work coincided with growing institutional interest in undersea cable, pipeline, and offshore-energy security—an area where she has since become a sought-after independent voice.

At Aethelgard, Anna advises shipbuilders, naval ministries, and offshore-infrastructure operators on threat modelling, survivability, and the practical realities of distributed maritime operations under contested ISR conditions. She is also the firm's lead on Arctic and high-north maritime questions, where her language capabilities and regional network are unusually deep.
